As 2024 ends, we’re reflecting on a year filled with growth, numerous launches and updates, and major milestones. This was a big year for Energy Toolbase and was especially meaningful as we reached our 10th anniversary – a testament to a decade of trust from our customers and our commitment to providing solutions in the solar and energy storage space. Alongside this milestone, we launched our newest service, ETB Consulting, announced the rebrand of our energy management system formerly known as ‘Acumen EMS™’ to ‘ETB Controller,’ and launched several integrations and partnerships. 2024 truly was a full and fruitful year.
Let’s take a closer look at some of this year’s highlights:
ETB Controller: Marking A Year of Evolution
This past fall, we officially rebranded Acumen EMS™ to ETB Controller. This rebranding better aligns the product with our product suite, emphasizing its capabilities and primary purpose of delivering energy storage controls. ETB Controller is also at the center of our strategic partnership with Yotta Energy, pairing Yotta’s hardware solutions with our software suite to offer a fully integrated solar and storage solution. We also expanded ETB Controller’s functionality to support the co-optimization of grid services and utility bill savings, enabling projects to tap into diverse value streams for improved economics.
ETB Developer: New Integrations and Features
ETB Developer experienced major updates this year, now offering robust new tools for improved design, modeling, and analysis. This includes our new solar design integrations, Scanifly and Solesca. Launched in August, our integration with Scanifly provides users with a drone-based solar design platform that seamlessly imports data into ETB Developer. Additionally, we very recently added Solesca to the platform, offering a solar design tool for our users for commercial, industrial, and community-scale projects.
We also added the Demand-Side Grid Services (DSGS) incentive option to ETB Developer, giving our users the ability to model DSGS in their projects and easily enroll in the program to access new value streams. Another major feature introduced was Connect My Data, allowing users to securely access and import utility data to improve energy performance monitoring and enable smarter, data-driven decisions.
Launch of ETB Consulting
The introduction of ETB Consulting in August was a large milestone for us. We are now providing expert optimization and analysis services for solar and energy storage projects to better support our users with detailed feasibility studies and financial modeling to maximize project performance. ETB Consulting elevates project analysis, addressing solar and battery system sizing, incentive program stacking strategies, and rate switch and tariff eligibility to deliver tailored solutions for developers.
Backed by our extensive rates database, which expanded significantly in 2024, ETB Consulting ensures our customers have access to the most accurate data for informed decision-making. Our in-house rates team now tracks and updates rates across all 50 states and internationally, fulfilling custom rate requests and enhancing modeling opportunities for all ETB Developer users. Our rates database exceeds more than 100,000 rates worldwide.
