The Challenge
The developer had previously chosen Acumen EMS™ controls software on two sites to shave peak demand at a 400,000-square-foot office supply manufacturer in Dickson, Tennessee. The end-customer had several other manufacturing facilities in Tennessee that include onsite fabrication, welding, painting, and forming and was searching for a storage solution to assist with mitigating a spikey load profile and high demand charges. The developer, who had previously deployed Acumen EMS controls, required a solution that delivered on time and provided support throughout the project’s lifecycle.
The Solution
After successfully commissioning and operating two previous systems utilizing Acumen EMS™ controls, the developer and end customer decided to purchase two more ESS solutions for their additional manufacturing facilities. ETB’s Acumen EMS™ controls, integrated with two BYD CHESS units totaling 532kWh, were deployed at both facilities to optimally shave peaks and reduce the customer’s demand charges. The customer elected to utilize different energy storage hardware vendors in their previous deployments. By selecting ETB’s Acumen EMS controls, both the developer and host customer have the ability to monitor all of their ESS projects from one common monitoring interface.
